Celebrating 80 Years of Freedom – A Salute to the Spirit of India

Vagdevi Vilas School, Nelamangala celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India on 15th August 2026 with immense pride, patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The school campus came alive with the colours of the Tricolour as students and staff gathered to honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and celebrate the unity and diversity of our great nation.

The school was privileged to have renowned cinematographer Shri Pradeep Pai as the Chief Guest for the occasion. His gracious presence added significance to the celebration, and his inspiring words encouraged the students to cherish the values of freedom, responsibility and patriotism.

One of the highlights of the programme was the impressive March Past, in which the students marched with remarkable discipline, coordination and confidence. Their synchronized steps and spirited participation reflected a strong sense of unity, pride and respect for the nation.

Adding colour and charm to the celebration, the young students of Standards I to III dressed as inspiring personalities and characters representing India’s rich heritage and patriotic spirit, the little ones captivated the audience with their confidence and enthusiasm. Their short speeches on the lives of the great leaders reminded us of their sacrifices.

The celebration continued with a vibrant array of cultural performances.

Energetic patriotic dances filled the atmosphere with national pride, while an engaging dance & skit beautifully conveyed the spirit of freedom, unity and love for the motherland. The expressive performances of the students received enthusiastic appreciation from the gathering.

On this Independence day our students performed Yoga, their graceful asanas beautifully showed us that the true freedom is also about a healthy body and a peaceful mind.

The 80th Independence Day celebration was a memorable occasion that reminded everyone that freedom is not merely a legacy to cherish, but also a responsibility to uphold. The programme instilled in the young minds a deeper appreciation for India’s glorious past and inspired them to contribute towards a brighter and stronger nation.

The National Song , Vande Mataram ,sung by the crowd was the highlight of the day.

With every salute to the Tricolour and every young heart filled with patriotism, Vagdevi Vilas School, Nelamangala reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing responsible, compassionate and proud citizens of India..The program concluded with distribution of sweets.
